Fluorescent Landscapes

Up to 2025, McCormick was possibly best known for his vibrant landscapes mixing in heavy use of fluorescent pigment. Bold neon outlines are a recurring motif in a high percentage of these landscapes, which were born of a direct reaction to the restrictions of the covid lockdowns. During that time McCormick went through a stage of great output, oils, pen & ink with water colour, and an exploration into acrylic. McCormick quickly developed a stripped back, naive style of working that allowed for an immediacy hitherto not seen in his work.
